Octave's 1st Movement table of contents

No prerequisite necessary

The First Movement will begin with one of your colleagues playing a piece to demonstrate the piano’s expressive quality.  This will be followed by an introduction to the 4 components of beautiful music and how they interrelate and affect one’s attempts at beautiful expression.  Then, tuning, touch and tone will be discussed, in that order.  These three sections will include an in-depth, but appropriate lecture as well as audio and video demonstrations highlighting the concepts discussed.  Each note will end with a discussion of factory recommendations and how tuning, touch and tone affect the pianist.  The seminar will end with the same pianist playing the same piece on the same piano for you to experientially comprehend how much better a piano and pianist sounds when the piano’s tuning, touch and tone have been optimized.
