As a piano teacher, I ask a lot of my advanced students both technically and musically. I absolutely need to have a piano that can respond to anything I want to be able to do whether it’s a fast key response, or subtle changes in color. Sam Haasenritter listens to my needs, and is so skilled that he can produce what I want everytime. I highly recommend him to all of my students and friends.
Sam Haasenritter is an attentive piano technician who always provides exemplary service whether for tuning or regulation. His work has considerably benefited the music department at Agnes Scott College. Our instruments are always tuned and regulated to the highest standard, especially prior to recital performances in Gaines Auditorium, Maclean Auditorium or the JTS Chapel.
Sam is able to clearly articulate the most acute needs of a piano at any given time. His approach is very logical whether it be for the short or long term maintenance of an instrument. He takes time to listen to one’s concerns and is most reassuring after proposing a solution once he has made careful diagnosis of the problem. I have also been impressed with his skills in regulation and voicing. On one occasion he was able to make a quick repair on an artist’s bench as well. Sam is always reliable, provides prompt service, and, frequently, can make a repair on the spur of the moment– one not necessarily on his “to-do” list that day. One of Sam’s best attributes is his pleasant disposition and positive attitude no matter what the challenge at hand. He is also very flexible with his schedule when possible, as many of our rehearsal spaces can be in use while he is working in Presser Hall.
It has been my pleasure to recommend Sam’s tuning service to my piano students as well as to the former President of Agnes Scott College.

Each year, we schedule a complicated calendar of musical performances, featuring our students and faculty, as well as visiting artists. Sam Haasenritter is so dependable and his work is of such a consistent high quality that we never sweat the readiness of our department’s pianos. Sam is a true professional, and we are fortunate to entrust our instruments to his care.
This year upon getting my dream piano (a Steinway model B), I gave Sam a call. Sam got to work and spent a couple of days working on voicing, evening out the response of each note, and adjusting pedals. I really wanted to do this beautiful and highly valuable instrument justice by bringing out its true potential. As a Conservatory trained pianist who has worked with many tuners and technicians, I can tell you that I was blown away by the impeccable balance in tone and crisp responding action brought out by Sam’s meticulous adjustments. It is clear to me that his level of expertise is unparalleled here in Atlanta. Feeling grateful,
I’ve been playing the piano professionally performing and recording with many artists nationally and internationally for 37 years now and Sam is the best piano engineer I’ve ever used. What he does is far past the normal tweaking. He has a genuine love for the instrument and that passion comes across with tenderness and care.
Sam recently regulated and voiced a Yamaha C7 that certainly needed some tweaking. The piano now sounds Absolutely AMAZING! The high-end speaks with clarity and yet the mid range has a comfortable mellow tone along with a warm bass end that makes you know it’s in the room.
Without a doubt, Sam truly has the gift and I will continue use him for as long as he’s in the business.
Columbia Theological Seminary is a graduate institution in Decatur, affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in the United States, but with a number of other denominations represented. We provide two chapels for a variety of worship experiences led by students, faculty, local clergy, and national leaders in the church. Both chapels have older Baldwin grand pianos which “Sam” has faithfully maintained for us for several years. He has always been responsive to our needs in a most timely and professional way, and in addition to routine tunings, he has addressed other issues, such as key action, string replacement, and voicing, to make the pianos sound their best for us. Columbia has always put a high value on the music in our worship, and “Sam” has done a landmark job in keeping these two pianos, both of which are older instruments, at their best. He also maintains my Knabe grand at home, and I would recommend him highly to both institutions and individuals for whom piano maintenance is a priority.
As the long-time pianist for one of metro Atlanta’s premier large jazz ensembles, having my home piano maintained to the highest standard is an extremely high priority for me, and for the past 20+ years, my good friend Sam Haasenritter has done just that. When I needed to purchase a new piano after getting married and buying a home some years ago, Sam was my first telephone call. Not only did his industry expertise and connections result in a fantastic bargain on a superb piano, but his commitment to servicing that instrument has been unparalleled over the years. If unrivaled professionalism, seemingly limitless subject matter knowledge, a top-notch work ethic, decades of experience, and the absolute highest standards for business and personal integrity are important to you, Sam Haasenritter is, without question, the piano technician you should hire. The overall value he brings to the experience of piano ownership is truly transformative, and writing the (always reasonable) check for his services is something I do with a smile.
Sam has been looking after my piano for a few years. I am a professional musician/pianist, and I own a rare and special German August Forster 7’4″ grand piano purchased more than 25 years ago by my parents. I had it moved here a few years back when I finally had the space for it. I play it every day and it has been a priority for me to take the best care of this instrument that is extremely precious to me. I had another piano tuner who tuned the piano and worked with it a few times. There were a couple small issues in buzzing tones, etc. that the other tuner was not able to resolve. He recommended that I contact Sam, as Sam specializes in German pianos and would be the ideal person to look at it. Sam not only took care of the problem a few years back, but he has been the sole person caring for my piano ever since. He not only does a BEAUTIFUL job tuning, he also services the piano and works on its tone. He recently did a long service where he worked on the hammers to restore the piano’s original depth in sound, as it has grown increasingly bright over the years with daily play. The results were amazing. The tone has more depth and roundness and is even throughout the range of the piano. I am VERY picky with my instrument, and I trust Sam to care for my beautiful piano. He is thoughtful and detailed, has tremendous knowledge and is truly passionate about what he does.
Haasenritter Piano Service is the gold standard of piano service and care. Such attention to detail and incredibly thorough, Sam Haasenritter does what far too few technicians that I’ve encountered over recent years can do: approach the care and maintenance of a piano with the touch and respect for the instrument of a true artisan. Sam voiced and finely tuned my piano with such care that he made it sound as beautiful as it did the day I first played it. I am so happy to have connected with him and am confident that my piano is in great hands.
As a professional pianist and piano teacher, I appreciate the excellent work that Sam did on my 1960 Steinway grand. He voiced my piano, which had become harsh and too bright after 25 years of ownership, and worked significantly longer than the four hours we had agreed on. It sounded like a new piano when he was finished, with a warmer, rounder tone. There was a greater dynamic range, especially when attempting to play pianissimo. I am extremely happy with Sam’s work!
Hassenritter Piano service has serviced my instrument for 2 years . Sam is very personal and gets down to every detail of what needs to be done to fine tune your instrument to it’s perfect playing standard. I have been teaching for over 30 years and I really appreciate a professional Tuner.
EXCELLENT in every manner! My piano was taken care of as though it was owned by Sam himself.
I’m a piano teacher/retired classroom music teacher who recently moved back to the south side of Atlanta after a decade away. I was thrilled to get on Sam Haasenritter’s schedule again! I was so impressed with Sam’s advanced certifications, expertise and experience in the past that for years I had him tune not only my private studio piano but the pianos at my school as well. I referred countless students to him over the years and they were equally satisfied with his excellent work. Sam is incredibly knowledgeable, meticulous and conscientious. You can totally trust him with your beloved instrument! I recently had him voice my Kawai grand and it sounds marvelous. I couldn’t be more pleased! He’s friendly, courteous and professional, too. Take it from a teacher…Sam’s who you want!
I am a piano teacher of 35+ years as well as a piano accompanist for choirs. Through the years I have had many piano tuners work on my home piano (6’4” grand) and I have never had anybody have my piano sound as good as it does now. My students love coming to their piano lessons now because of the sound quality that is coming out of my piano, I highly recommend Sam Haasenritter to work on your piano!
Excellent experience. Recently Mr. Haasenritter tuned my Kawai grand piano, at which time we discussed an additional appointment to have the piano voiced. As a piano teacher, I have thought about doing this for many years and I was finally ready to invest in making the piano sound more beautiful. Indeed, the piano is so much more beautiful now than before. I’m sure my enjoyment of it will far, far outweigh the money I invested. Sam is extremely well-trained in this kind of work and it shows!
Sam is by far the most professional technician I have had work on my piano. He always returned phone calls in a timely manner and arrived promptly to appointments. In addition to professionalism, Sam exhibited a genuine sense of care for my needs. He listened to questions and concerns I had about my piano, and also notified me if he saw a problematic issue. I always felt like my piano was in good hands, and I would recommend Sam Haasenritter to anyone as a dependable piano technician.
I am pleased to offer this letter of satisfaction and approval for the fine workmanship of Mr. Kamuela Sam Haasenritter (Better known to us as “Sam-the -Piano-Man”! My name is Geary Brogden and I’m the Minister of Music at Ramah First Baptist Church of Palmetto, Georgia. I have been on staff here for 6 years and I was particularly pleased to find that our church had a dependable person that could keep our pianos in tune. We have several special musical performances each year and it is critical that our Yamaha Grand in our main sanctuary is in excellent condition and finely tuned. When I met Mr. Haasenritter (Sam) I was greatly relieved to find in him a person who was not only talented and precise with his trade but friendly and easy to talk and work with. I am particularly reminded of a bit over two years ago, when Sam spent a full day meticulously tuning and perfecting the tonal quality of our piano. His dedication to task, detail in his workmanship and his work integrity were and are greatly appreciated. Our people who play our pianos are pleased to have an instrument that produces the quality of sound that it does. I have also appreciated the extra step in professionalism that Sam affords us as his customer. And that is the scheduling and maintenance checks that he takes care of for us. He keeps track of dates and makes sure that our instrument is ready for the performance and tasks that are required of it. I highly recommend Haasenritter Piano Service.
Sam has been providing high quality service for my Steinway grand for a number of years. He takes care of tuning, voicing, action regulation and other needs of the piano. He is a professional who is quick to respond to emergencies and last minute needs. Sam truly keeps my piano in top shape for practice and performance.
I am pleased to recommend Sam Haasenritter as a great all-around piano professional. He has done a conscientious and thorough job of tuning both of my pianos, one console, one grand, and gave great advice when he came to evaluate the grand piano I eventually bought. He has an extensive network of resources to call upon, which helped establish fair pricing and gave me a recommendation for a terrific piano mover. He is exceptionally knowledgeable about his work, easy to get hold of and just an all-around nice guy. I have been very satisfied with the service he has given me.
I am a musician, a private voice and piano teacher, and a general elementary music and MS and HS Chorus teacher at a private school. I met Sam through his coming to tune the pianos at the school and he has now been tuning my private studio piano for several years. All I can say is that I wish I had known about him years ago! His attention to detail in caring not only for my piano, but also caring about me personally and professionally as a customer is refreshing in this day and age of “no-customer service”.
He is extremely knowledgeable and he is always willing to share his knowledge of the instrument. I confidently and consistently refer his services to everyone I know that could use piano service and trust that he will deliver the same great care to them that he does to me. In my opinion, if you live in the Atlanta area and you care about your piano, Sam should be your tuner!
Sam is a very conscientious piano technician. He takes the time needed to do a job well done. He is professional and trustworthy and has always given great service. In addition to being timely, he explains things very well. You can tell that he enjoys his work and takes it seriously. Sam is a man of integrity–one that I trust to keep my piano in great shape. I recommend Sam to care for your piano, whether you are a student or a professional musician.
I just got to church and I’m playing this almost new piano you came and worked on. It sounds fabulous! I really really love the way it sounds. I am very excited to practice on it this morning. So thank you so much for all your hard work. Hopefully it will a while because I love the way it sounds. So thank you. Bye
Sam is incredibly diligent in listening, adjusting, and fine tuning my piano. He truly specializes in making pianos produce their best sound. I especially like that Sam will stay until I’m happy with the sound! There are other piano tuners around the area but Sam is by far the best!
